S en Ciel

13 Dec

In the Rue Haute in Bruxelles, in the typical neighboorhood of the Marolles, there’s a wonderful little shop (opened in 1996) called “S en Ciel”. You can find all sorts of beautiful leatherworks here (all handmade with the finest leather): bags, wallets, keychains, belts, gloves… and hats also.

The outside is as inviting as the inside: warm, colourful, cozy atmosphere with a hint of nostalgia. And don’t forget to mention the shopkeeper who is ‘extrêmement sympathique’ ^^.

The Classics… ??

8 Dec

I’ve always been a big fan of English literature… the tormented love stories in Jane Austen’s novels, gentlemen who steal away young girls’ hearts, true love, dreamy English landscapes, … a girl’s dream.

And zombies… zombies are awesome too… those old zombie-horrormovies, delightful!

But what happens when Jane Austen and zombies meet?

This! :

O_O wait… what happened here?

“The classic regency romance – now with ultra-violent zombie mayhem!”

“As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton – and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers – and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Because this isn’t your English Teacher’s copy of Pride and Prejudice. This is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!”

“Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen’s beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. That’s right, zombie scenes have been inserted into the classic text to turn this novel into a roaring, updated, blood-fest! Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice), this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen’s classic novel to new legions of fans. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

“Jane would be proud.”

New Deluxe Edition: A limited special edition which features an incredible 30 percent more zombies! That’s right, even more all-new scenes of carnage, corpse slaying, and cannibalism. Complete with a satin ribbon marker and a leatherette binding designed to endure for generations.”

That satin ribbon marker does it!

Cupcake “mints”

8 Dec

When buying myself cupcakes… the first thing I eat is… the frosting… sweet, delicious frosting (and then throw away the rest, because it’s all about the frosting ;]!)

Now for all the cupcakefrostinglovers, here’s something special: cupcake mints! frosting flavoured!

from ThinkGeek:

“Ok, no silly stories. Just look at that picture. The tin looks like a festive cupcake. The mints are blue, white, and pink. Now close your eyes. Imagine the smell of fresh cupcakes. That’s what you will smell when you open up a tin of Cupcake Mints. And what will you taste? Divinity!”
